Endometriosis

Postoperative adhesions are fibrotic bands that form between tissues and organs following surgical procedures, particularly in the abdominal and pelvic cavities. These adhesions are a major cause of morbidity, leading to complications such as chronic abdominal pain, infertility, and intestinal obstruction Arung et al. (2011) Morris et al., 2017). 

The World Health Organization defines obesity as  abnormal or excessive accumulation of fat that poses a health risk. Obesity is a chronic condition that has a negative impact on the quality of life and increases the risk of comorbidities, some of which are quite serious.

Histopathological speaking, endometriosis diagnosis is made when a lesion has endometrial type glands arranged in a fusiform, endometrial stroma. The histopathological diagnosis of endometriosis is made by a pathologist and consists of microscopic and macroscopic examination of tissues taken during surgery.

The origins of endometriosis include many concepts. For me from 1970 to 1992, the question of origin had one answer: retrograde dissemination of endometrium during menses, implantation during a window of opportunity, and growth. 

After surgery for endometriosis of the somatic nerves, recovery through physical therapy is very important because these therapies help heal the nerve and help prevent the formation of perineural scar tissue, as mentioned above.

The pain caused by endometriosis greatly affects the lives of people suffering from this disease. The level of pain is so debilitating that endometriosis has been included by the NHS in the Top 20 most painful diseases, placing it at number 15.
